Nicky Belton
Nicky Belton graduated from the Winchester School of Art in 1991. After having graduated, she had a successful career as a milliner, or hat maker, for a number of years. She built up a loyal and passionate following for her originality and expertise in this area of design. By 1997, though, she was ready to make a change and so she began in earnest her career in fine art and in interior design. Finding great joy, fulfillment and success in the world of fine art, Nicky then committed to this as her creative calling.

Creativity in the Family
Art ran in the family in some ways, as Nicky has said that she was often entertained by her grandfather drawing pictures for her as a child. Moreover, her uncle is a practicing artist. It is unsurprising, then, how important artistic expression of one kind or another would become for Nicky Belton. Today, she is always with her sketchbook. When she cannot quickly sketch down something which takes her interest, she is on hand with a camera to snap a picture. Nicky lives a very active, outdoors life. When she is not in the studio, she is out on walks with her dogs.

Nicky has a passion and energy for life outside of art, and it is this energy which then makes its way back into her creative expression. On this relationship between life and art, Nicky Belton has said: 'I have many passions, which are as varied as life. They include animals, fashion, the great outdoors... all these things have inspired me to paint'.
